NIMHANS also offers another programme—M.Phil. in neurosciences. The entry qualification is MBBS/ BE/ B.Tech. in electronics/ electrical/ computer science/ biotechnology/ M.Sc. degree in physics/ chemistry/ biochemistry/ anatomy/ physiology/ molecular biology/ genetics/ biotechnology/ zoology/ life science/ Master's degree in psychology.

The selection to these programmes is based on a national-level entrance test and interview.

Admission notification can be expected in the months of October/ November every year. More details can be collected from the website www.nihmans.kar.nic.in.

The National Brain Research Centre, a deemed university in Manesar, Haryana, offers integrated doctorate programmes in neuroscience.

Entry qualification is a Bachelor's degree in any branch of science such as life sciences, physics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, computer application, pharmacy, veterinary science, psychology, engineering, technology or medicine. Those who are appearing for the final year of the qualifying exam can also apply.

On successful completion of the integrated doctorate programme, the students will be awarded both an M.Sc. degree and a doctorate degree. Only those candidates with good academic record, i.e. at least 55 per cent marks from secondary examination onwards, will be considered for admission to this programme. The selection is based on an entrance test and an interview. More details can be collected from the website www.nbrc.ac.in.

The Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, offers M.Tech. in nano medical sciences. B.Tech. degree holders are eligible to apply. The selection is based on an entrance test and interview. Website: www.amrita.edu.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, in co-operation with the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram and Christian Medical College, Vellore, jointly conduct an M.Tech. programme in clinical engineering.

The main objective of the course is to train engineers' to manage and ensure a safe and effective way to use technology in hospitals and health care delivery settings. Duration of the course is two and a half years.

The entry qualification is a BE or B.Tech. degree in computer science, electrical and electronics or electronics and communication. The selection is based on the GATE score in the relevant branch. Candidates without a valid GATE score will have to appear for a screening test and personal interview. For more details visit www.biotech.iitm.ac.in/mcephd/index.php.
